Mr. Bufkin invited VISTA volunteer Andy Gordon to stay in this house when he was assigned to Black Springs in 1969. Although furnished with just a cot, a desk, and a couch, the house became the meeting place for the youth group, P.O.W.E.R., whose members considered him more of a big brother than a VISTA worker.
